This week in SuperKids we started a new unit about things we can do during a party.      This week in Dora we also started a new unit about things in my room. Students shared with the class some things in their own room at home.   Phrases to practice at home: I had a great time.  Thank you.  Goodbye, Pluto. This is for you.  A soccer ball!  Thanks. What’s Mojo doing?  He’s drawing a map.  What color is your blanket?  It’s red. Where’s the pillow?  It’s on the bed.

This week in SuperKids we practiced the phonics blend for –un, -up, -um words.  We also practiced asking our classmates where they are going for after school classes.  The students practiced asking “Where are you going?” and giving answers while playing tic-tac-toe.    This week in Dora we shared what job students want to do when they grow up.  We have also started practicing for our graduation show.  Phrases to practice at home: I run in the sun.  This is my drum.  The gum is in the cup. Where are you going?  I’m going to soccer practice. Are you ready to go? Yes. How about you?  Uh-huh.  Let’s go.  Is he a musician?  Yes, he is. Is she a police officer?  No, she isn’t.  She’s a firefighter.

This week in SuperKids we practiced common phrases used when getting ready for after school classes.   In Dora, we went on an adventure helping Dora’s mommy.   We also talked about how important it is to help your parents.  Phrases to practice at home: Put your books in your bag.  Put on your jacket. Say goodbye to your teacher.  Put on your uniform. Run to baseball practice.  Join your team. Where are you going?  I’m going to judo practice.  I can help at home.  I can wipe the table.  I can put away the toys.

How about you? Bye. See you at soccer practice.  See you then. Where are you going?  I’m going to judo practice.  Is she a doctor?  Yes, she is. Is he a firefighter?  No, he isn’t.

This week in SuperKids we focused on the phonics blend for –it, -in, -ig words.  We also practiced asking our friends about art supplies and prepositions: in, on, under.  In Dora, we started a new unit learning about different jobs and occupations.  Phrases to practice at home: It’s a big pin.  Hit the ball.  Sit in the box. Where’s the erasers?  They’re in the box.  He’s a musician.  She’s a firefighter. I’m a builder.  You’re a police officer.

This week in SuperKids we learned how to follow steps to draw a fox.  We also practiced the prepositions in, on and under.  In Dora, we sang a song about keeping clean and reviewed how to wash hands properly. We’ve completed learning about words to describe people and animals.  We also learned about other common adjectives (words to describe people or things).  Phrases to practice at home: The scissors are in the box. The pins are on the box. Where are the scissors?  They’re in the box.  You’re clean. You’re loud. I’m muddy today.

This week in SuperKids we learned about materials we may use in art class.  We also learned about prepositions, in, on and under.  In Dora, we went on an adventure to find Little Boots and help clean Benny’s puppies.  We also talked about the importance of keeping clean.  Phrases to practice at home: The scissors are in the box.  The stickers are on the desk. What’s your favorite class?  English class. How do you spell fox? F-o-x.  They need a bath.  They’re clean. He’s loud. She’s muddy.
