This week in SuperKids we focused on the phonics blend for –it, -in, -ig words.  We also practiced asking our friends about art supplies and prepositions: in, on, under. 

In Dora, we started a new unit learning about different jobs and occupations. 

Phrases to practice at home:

It’s a big pin.  Hit the ball.  Sit in the box.

Where’s the erasers?  They’re in the box. 

He’s a musician.  She’s a firefighter.

I’m a builder.  You’re a police officer.

This week in SuperKids we learned how to follow steps to draw a fox.  We also practiced the prepositions in, on and under.

 In Dora, we sang a song about keeping clean and reviewed how to wash hands properly. We’ve completed learning about words to describe people and animals. 

We also learned about other common adjectives (words to describe people or things).

 Phrases to practice at home:

The scissors are in the box.

The pins are on the box.

Where are the scissors?  They’re in the box. 

You’re clean. You’re loud.

I’m muddy today.

This week in SuperKids we learned about materials we may use in art class.  We also learned about prepositions, in, on and under. 

In Dora, we went on an adventure to find Little Boots and help clean Benny’s puppies.  We also talked about the importance of keeping clean. 

Phrases to practice at home:

The scissors are in the box.  The stickers are on the desk.

What’s your favorite class?  English class.

How do you spell fox? F-o-x. 

They need a bath.  They’re clean.

He’s loud. She’s muddy.

What do you want?  I want sushi. 

You’re muddy.  I’m clean.

You’re loud.  I’m quiet.

This week in SuperKids we continued learning about eating out.  We also practiced –ed, -en- and –ell words.  Students asked their classmates about their favorite food.

In Dora, we started a new unit learning about adjectives.  Adjectives are important to give more detail and descriptions to nouns.   

Phrases to practice at home:

What do you want?  I want fruit.

These are pens.  This is a red bell.  That is a bed. 

I am clean.  You are loud. We are quiet.  They are excited.
