Week of May 9-13

This week in SuperKids we reviewed the phonics blend for –ame, -ake, -ase words.  We also practiced asking what someone is doing. 

This week in Dora we went on an adventure with Swiper.  Boots and Dora work with Swiper to help get his things back.  We also talked about asking for permission from your teachers or parents.

Phrases to practice at home:

The board game is on the bed.

My name is on the vase.

What’s Mojo doing?  He’s drinking juice.

What’s Toni doing?  She’s eating a snack.

This week in SuperKids we continued learning about cleaning up after a class party.  We also practiced asking what someone is doing. 

This week in Dora we also started a new unit about things in my room. We also learned about how to ask where things are in our room.

This week in SuperKids we started a new unit about things we can do during a party.     

This week in Dora we also started a new unit about things in my room. Students shared with the class some things in their own room at home.

This week in SuperKids we practiced the phonics blend for –un, -up, -um words.  We also practiced asking our classmates where they are going for after school classes.  The students practiced asking “Where are you going?” and giving answers while playing tic-tac-toe.   

This week in Dora we shared what job students want to do when they grow up. 

We have also started practicing for our graduation show. 

Phrases to practice at home:

I run in the sun.  This is my drum.  The gum is in the cup.

Where are you going?  I’m going to soccer practice.

Are you ready to go? Yes.

How about you?  Uh-huh.  Let’s go. 

Is he a musician?  Yes, he is.

Is she a police officer?  No, she isn’t.  She’s a firefighter.

In Dora, we went on an adventure helping Dora’s mommy.   We also talked about how important it is to help your parents.

Say goodbye to your teacher.  Put on your uniform.

Run to baseball practice.  Join your team.

Where are you going?  I’m going to judo practice. 

I can help at home.  I can wipe the table.  I can put away the toys.
