Mid Autumn Festival/Happy Teacher's Day

Dear K3 Show and Tell Parents,

As we enter the next two weeks of lessons, we will have shorter learning days due to the upcoming school holidays on Friday, September 25 and Monday, September 28. During these weeks, I will incorporate two meaningful and culturally important celebrations into our regular K3 Show and Tell English lessons.

Mid-Autumn Festival

This week , our lessons will introduce students to the traditions and meaning of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Through simple English vocabulary, sentence patterns, and fun classroom activities, students will learn about some of the special traditions associated with this celebration.

Our key vocabulary will include:

  • pomelo
  • moon cake
  • BBQ
  • full moon
  • Happy Moon Festival!

Students will practice using these new words in simple sentences while learning about the foods, family traditions, and celebration of the full moon.

Teachers’ Day / Confucius’s Birthday

I will also begin introducing the meaning of Teacher’s Day, which is celebrated in Taiwan in connection with Confucius’s birthday. Students will learn simple English expressions about showing appreciation and saying thank you to their teachers.

To make the lesson fun and memorable, we will practice a short chant:

“Happy Teacher’s Day!
Thank you, Teacher,
for teaching me!”

These special lessons will be incorporated naturally into our regular Show and Tell curriculum. My goal is not only to develop students’ English vocabulary, speaking, and sentence-building skills, but also to help them understand and appreciate the wonderful cultural traditions and celebrations around them.

I look forward to making these two weeks fun, meaningful, and full of learning for our K3 students!
