Week of October 4-8

K3 English Communication Sheet, Oct 4-8

þ  SuperKids Conversation Book: Our House, pages 16-17

þ  Vocabulary words: monkey, rabbit, walk, notebook, snake, fox, octopus, turtle, parrot, umbrella, yo-yo, question, violin, zebra, yard, racket, nine, sick, water, pink 

þ  Learn English with Dora:  Unit 2: Shapes, pages 12-13

þ  Vocabulary words: circle, triangle, square, rectangle, oval, diamond

This week we in SuperKids we continued learning about the different rooms in the house.  We also practiced some vocabulary words from the letters m-z.  Students also practiced spelling some common words.  We made a mini-book using those vocabulary words.  I asked the students to read the mini-book to their parents.  I hope they did!

In Dora, we started learning about shapes.  Students were able to find shapes all around the classroom.  Have students practice finding shapes at home too. Example: The TV is a rectangle.  The clock is a circle. 

Phrases to practice at home: 

Hi. I’m Chip. What’s your name?

How old are you?

I’m 5. How about you?

What’s the first letter? What’s the first sound? It’s m-m for monkey.

What’s the first letter?  What’s the first sound? It’s r-r for rabbit.

What shape is this?  It’s a circle.

What shape is this?  It’s a triangle.
