This week in SuperKids we continued learning about the weather and simple commands in English.   In Dora, continued with shapes and sang a song about turning left or turning right.   We also spent time working on our activity book from last week (pages 16-19). Phrases to practice at home: What’s the weather like? It’s windy.  It’s cool. Open your umbrella.  Close your umbrella. Put on your raincoat. Turn to the left.  Turn to the right. It’s a green triangle.  It’s a pink oval. Good job!  We did it! We also had our Halloween celebrations!  Happy Halloween!

This week in SuperKids we continued with more learning about the weather.  The students did some listening and writing exercises.   In Dora, we went on another adventure with Dora and Boots.  Circle isn’t on the train.  Dora and Boots have to help Circle.   We also learned about giving compliments and saying kind and encouraging words to each other. Phrases to practice at home: What’s the weather like? It’s windy.  It’s foggy. Good job! You did it! You can do it! Good idea!

Week of October 12-15

This week in SuperKids we learned about the weather.  Students practiced talking about the weather outside. In Dora, we continued learning about shapes and sang a song.  We then learned about using colors to describe shapes. Phrases to practice at home: What’s the weather like?  It’s windy. It’s a red oval.  It’s a yellow square.  It’s a green diamond.  It’s a blue triangle.  It’s a pink circle.  It’s an orange rectangle.

We have also started practicing 2 new songs and dances for Halloween.  Please practice with the students at home.

The first song is:  Go Away, Scary Monster.

The second song is: The Skeleton Dance.

Week of October 4-8

This week we in SuperKids we continued learning about the different rooms in the house.  We also practiced some vocabulary words from the letters m-z.  Students also practiced spelling some common words.  We made a mini-book using those vocabulary words.  I asked the students to read the mini-book to their parents.  I hope they did! In Dora, we started learning about shapes.  Students were able to find shapes all around the classroom.  Have students practice finding shapes at home too. Example: The TV is a rectangle.  The clock is a circle.  Phrases to practice at home:  Hi. I’m Chip. What’s your name? How old are you? I’m 5. How about you? What’s the first letter? What’s the first sound? It’s m-m for monkey. What’s the first letter?  What’s the first sound? It’s r-r for rabbit. What shape is this?  It’s a circle. What shape is this?  It’s a triangle.
